VINF team is helping the Institute to promote its activities in order to become a key player in the field of Nanofilms. 

 

Dr. Frédéric Mirabella is VINF General Manager.

In 2005, Frédéric Mirabella achieved his PhD in Physics (solid state / surfaces) in the University of Namur. For one more year he stayed in the University to set-up a plasma polymer deposition chamber aiming to coat steel surfaces with smart coatings. In September 2006 he entered ArcelorMittal Liege Research Center to ensure the day to day management of EXCELL NoE (FP6) project and to integrate R&D activities of the New Coating Department. So he participated to industrialization of solar selective absorbers (Solarceo®) and led 2 more projects from the “Light & Energy Management” topic.

Axelle van Harten is VINF Management  & Communication Officer.

She has a Master in Philosophy and she has worked as Manager Assistant at the Pennsylvania State University, USA, in the Human Resources department.
Prior to joining VINF, she also worked as a freelance journalist, specializing in societal issues, health, and ecology.
Axelle has brought her combined experience in communication and management to support VINF development.

Axelle is also a key element in the organisation of the ECNF Conference.

Dr. François Berger is VINF Scientific Advisor.

Prior to joining VINF, he has worked as researcher/PhD student in the University of Namur, Belgium. In October 2009, he integrated the VINF structure as Scientific Advisor and Project Manager to ensure the end of the administrative day-to-day management of EXCELL project (FP6). In June 2010, he obtained his PhD in chemistry (Surface/ Electrochemistry).
